Position: Electrical Estimator for Commercial, Residential and Industrial projects.
Gunther’s Electric, Inc. is a family owned and run business that has been serving the Eastern Shore of Maryland since 1961. We service Queen Anne’s, Talbot, Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Wicomico, and Anne Arundel Counties.
This is a unique opportunity for the right person. We’re looking for a licensed Journeyman with a desire to advance his/her profession. We offer health and dental plans, Simple IRA contributions, paid vacations and holidays.
General Responsibilities:
- Compile and complete estimates for bids
- Understand project cost controls and change order management.
- Do take-offs from blueprints for electrical installations. Layout electrical plan, materials list and labor for scope of job in compliance with all state, local and municipal laws.
- List and obtain multi-vendor pricing for bidding process.
- Attend pre-bid meetings as well as meet with owners and project managers for job planning to determine the client’s needs and concerns
- Conduct and attend project progress meetings to achieve complete customer satisfaction.
- Seek electrical projects through various sources.
- Attend all code and continuing education classes as required.
Qualifications:
- High School graduate
- Graduate of a 4 year apprenticeship program
- Computer literate in Microsoft Word and Excel. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have verifiable high quality references from past employers
- Minimum of 5 years as licensed Journeyman with field work in residential and/or commercial
- Clean DMV driving record and reliable transportation.
